I have decided to turn my woodturning hobby into something more, and I'm pleased to announce the beginning of Buchner Woodcraft. The focus will be on twice-turned bowls and hollow forms from wood cut here in British Columbia, with 50% of the revenue going to the Makerspace. As part of that, my Nova Neptune lathe will be spending several days at at a time in the Industrial Arts room, bolted onto the bench in front of our Craftex. It is free for every member to use, and my name and phone number are written on it of you ever have any questions about it, or woodturning in general.
I have plans for workshops in the future, starting in October. With my personal lathe and the Space's, we have two that can be used at the same time in a classroom setting, and might be able to accommodate four people at a time. Workshops will be open preferentially to Makerspace members and then members of the public.
